Police Appeal: Did You See Mark Bridger Between Monday And Tuesday?

Police have issued a public appeal for more information on the recent activity of Mark Bridger, the man arrested on suspicion of abducting five-year-old April Jones.

A picture of Bridger, 46, and his blue Land Rover Discovery 4x4, registration number L503 MEP, were released by Dyfed Powys police in a press conference on Wednesday morning.

Detective Superintendent Reg Bevan appealed for any information people may have about Mr Bridger or his Land Rover, saying: "Did you see that vehicle between Monday evening and Tuesday afternoon?

"If you did, please don't assume that someone else has already contacted us. Please, even if you have the smallest of information, it could be crucial to this investigation."

April Jones has been missing since Monday

In particular police appealed for anyone who might have seen Bridger between the hours of 5pm on Monday evening, when April was snatched, up until 3.30pm on Tuesday afternoon when Bridger was arrested.

Detective Bevan told the press conference where the 46-year-old had been arrested, adding that Bridger's landrover was parked up in a repair garage about a quarter of a mile from where the suspect was walking.

His vehicle was described as a Land Rover Discovery 4x4 vehicle with the registration number L503 MEP.

"He was arrested on the A487 just north of the Dyfi Bridge, walking in the direction of Machynlleth, and he was wearing a camouflage green jacket, black waterproof overtrousers and camouflage trousers beneath those.

Police have now turned the area they are searching into a no fly zone according to Sky News, who are prevented from using any helicopters over the Machynlleth area.

A police hovercraft was seen as rescue teams prepared themselves to search the estuary of River Dyfi north of Aberystwyth.

The parents of April Jones are expected to make an appeal for help in front of the cameras at 12.30 on Wednesday.
