But as the former X Factor star continues to take over the US, her image is getting somewhat of an overhaul.
Cher's glossy American transformation looked complete as she attended the Hard Rock Rocks Times Square benefit in New York last night.
She was an image of sophistication in a black and white print dress and an apple necklace paying homage to NYC, with her hair styled in glossy curls.
The singer is also gearing up for the release of new US single Oath, which she released the video for yesterday.
It sees Cher do a Britney with a Hit Me Baby One More Time-style school hall routine.
Let's just hope she doesn't start shaving her head next...
