Astronomers Discover 'Pac Man' Nebula

Amateur astronomers have taken a photo of a gigantic cloud of space dust which bears an uncanny resemblence to a certain 80s video gaming icon.

The Pac-Man nebula looks just like the famous yellow pill-eating orb made famous in dozens of popular games.

(Except, uh, it's red.)

Take a look:

Astrophotographers Bob and Janice Fera took the photograph at Eagle Ridge Observatory in California, reported Space.com.

They used a Officina Stellare RC-360AST 14" f/8 Ritchey Chretien Cassegrain telescope to take the picture of the galaxy which is located about 9,200 light-years away.

It's official name is NGC 281 in the constellation Cassiopeia. But somehow 'Pac-Man Nebula' just has a better ring to it, doesn't it?

All together now: waca-waca-waca-nom-nom-nom...
