Dougie Freedman Joins Bolton Wanderers, Here's His Crystal Palace Career In Pictures

Dougie Freedman has ended his 11-year association with Crystal Palace to become Bolton Wanderers' new manager.

Freedman replaces fellow Scot Owen Coyle, who was sacked after just three wins in 11 matches following the club's relegation to the Championship.

The Trotters however defeated Bristol City at the weekend under the reins of caretaker manager Jimmy Phillips.

But Palace today confirmed the departure of the 38-year-old today.

"The Club would like to put on record their thanks to Dougie for all his efforts over the past couple of years and their disappointment over the events of the past few days. The search for a replacement starts immediately."

Assistant Manager Lennie Lawrence and first team coach Curtis Fleming will take charge of Palace's against Barnsley tonight.

Freedman joined Palace in 1995 and played for the Selhurst Club for two years before he joined Wolverhampton Wanderers. He returned to the south London club in 2000 and spent a further eight years with the Eagles as they gained promotion to the Premier League in 2004.

The Glaswegian scored 110 goals for the club.
