Labrinth And Emeli Sande Top UK Singles Chart With 'Beneath Your Beautiful'

Labrinth And Emeli Sande Clinch Top Spot

British rapper and record producer Labrinth was celebrating his first number one hit tonight as Beneath Your Beautiful topped the official UK singles chart.

His duet with singer Emeli Sande clinched the top spot, knocking Calvin Harris and Florence Welch off the summit as their track Sweet Nothing slipped to number three.

Labrinth's song, which was at number 85 in last weekend's charts, enjoyed a massive sales boost after he and Sande performed it live on last Sunday's X Factor results show.

And there were further celebrations for Sande as her collaboration with rapper Naughty Boy debuted at number 10.

Boyband JLS achieved another top 10 single with their latest track, Hottest Girl In The World, which went in at number six.

Swedish House Mafia stayed at number two in the charts with Don't You Worry Child, while Adele's Bond theme, Skyfall, fell to number seven just days after the film's general release.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift topped the album charts with her fourth LP Red.

The album, which features the single We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, was reportedly outselling its nearest rival, the deluxe version of Sande's Our Version Of Events, by two to one this week.

British rockers Lawson made an impact on the album charts with their debut Chapman Square at four, while Jake Bugg's eponymous debut is at three and Mumford And Sons' latest Babel is at five.

Former N-Dubz star Dappy went into the album chart at number six with Bad Intentions, while veteran Irish singer Daniel O'Donnell was new at number seven with Songs From The Movies and More.
