If Jamie Oliver wasn't a big enough egg to have on his side, Robbie Williams has also received solid support from DJ Neil 'Doctor' Fox.
Fox tweeted his unhappiness at Radio One breakfast show host Nick Grimshaw calling Williams irrelevant to Radio One's younger listeners in no uncertain terms...
And he added for clarity:
Fox - a long time DJ and broadcaster who has nine Sony Awards to his name - later told Radio Today that he was Grimshaw was only saying such things to garner headlines, after Radio One bosses omitted the former Take That singer - who's enjoying his 14th number one single this week with 'Candy' - from their all-influential playlist.
Jamie Oliver added his voice to the mix yesterday, telling Channel 5 that Radio One should reinstate Robbie Williams forthwith - "Are they mad?"
It's not the first time Magic FM DJ Neil Fox has fallen out with the Radio One team. He had a long-running spat with breakfast show host Chris Moyles, including a particularly volatile incident when Fox challenged him to a celebrity fisticuffs. Moyles replied by promising Fox that he would "rip that guy a brand new hole. I'm gonna tear his head off and poo down his neck".
He was reprimanded by the BBC.
