A former BBC producer arrested as part of the Jimmy Savile sex abuse investigation has been released on bail.
73-year-old Wilfred De'Ath was named by the BBC after being arrested at a property in Cambridge at 7.15am on Sunday and taken into custody locally.
He was the third suspect to be arrested on suspicion of sexual offences after former rocker Gary Glitter and comic Freddie Starr.
The OAP was arrested under Operation Yewtree - the Metropolitan Police investigation into alleged offending by the former disc jockey and "others".
Wilfred De'Ath, a former producer of Jimmy Savile's on the BBC radio show Teen Scene, previously said he had been aware of Savile's reputation, telling ITV news: "He had a reputation, he had a shocking reputation for young women, but it was all hearsay, I didn’t know whether to believe it or not."
A Scotland Yard spokesman said the man was bailed to a date in December pending further inquiries.
Ex-pop star Glitter, whose real name is Paul Gadd, was arrested first and questioned at a central London police station after being detained at his home in the capital.
Starr, 69, was arrested next.
He was arrested twice and released on bail for a second time earlier this month as part of the Savile abuse inquiry.
He has consistently denied any involvement in the alleged abuse.
Last month he branded Savile "despicable" and "disgusting", and urged police to interview him so he could clear his name.
Savile, who died last year at the age of 84, is now believed to have been one of the UK's most prolific abusers, with hundreds of possible victims.
Scotland Yard is leading a national investigation into the television and radio star's activities and pursuing hundreds of lines of inquiry.
