Hugh Jackman has admitted he took a huge risk taking the lead role of Jean Valjean in the film of the musical 'Les Miserables', but he was pleased with the outcome.
Valjean is a former prisoner turned pillar of society in 19th century Paris, who seeks redemption, while his Nemesis Inspector Javert (Russell Crowe) hunts him down.
The role involved taking a huge singing role for Jackman - who has previous musical form on stage as 'The Man From Oz', and in front of a worldwide audience when he hosted the Oscars in 2009.
The juggernaut that is the release of highly-anticipated musical blockbuster 'Les Miserables' has swung into life, making its first stop in South Korea.
Jackman joined producer Sir Cameron Mackintosh for the film's premiere in Seoul.

Other stars in the film set in 19th century Paris, which required all actors to sing live as they went along instead of being dubbed later, include Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Russell Crowe and Eddie Redmayne.
The film, which is already being tipped for lots of attention come Awards season, is directed by Tom Hooper ('The King's Speech'), and will be in UK cinemas on 11 January next year. Watch the trailer below...
