Mutya Keisha, Siobhan, The 'Original Subabes', Reveal: 'We Weren't In A Good Place'

The Babes Are Back: Meet Mutya Keisha And Siobhan

The 'original Sugababes' aka Siobhán Donaghy, Mutya Buena and Keisha Buchanan, have spoken out about why they decided to reform after more than 10 years apart.

Now called Mutya Keisha Siobhan, the girls are in the midst of working on their new album.

Talking about their reunion, Keisha told Ponystep magazine: "There were a lot of things misconstrued over the years and we weren't in a good place. But we reached an understanding and were able to move forward".

The idea to get back together came when Keisha, who'd just left the current Sugababes, saw Mutya being interviewed on 'Lorraine'.

"Lorraine said 'you might as well call Siobhan and get the original band back together', I could see Mutya thinking 'perhaps'. That was the start," Keisha said.

And Mutya added: "After that I Facebooked Siobhan and we said, 'we should meet up.'"

Announcing the reunion on Twitter in July, Keisha posted a snap of the three stars on her Twitter.com page and wrote: "Dear tweeters ive (sic) been trying my best to keep this one on the DL (downlow)."

The girls have also denied that they're moody in interviews. Keisha explained: "They tried to (media train us), but as soon as we got on to camera we forgot everything we'd been told. We'd go into interviews with faces like thunder.

Siobhan explained: "We weren't even moody. We didn't realise that you have to smile or see you look aloof when you're on TV. A lot of it was nerves."

MKS's album is due to be released next year and the group have reportedly been working with Shaznay Lewis, Naughty Boy, Emeli Sandé and Mr Hudson, amongst others, on their new material.

Mutya said: "I think it's a step up from the first album. I just hope people will enjoy it. Actually, I know people will enjoy it."
