'Education Always Comes First': Barbie Wannabe Proves She's No Airhead By Getting Two University Degrees

A blonde Barbie wannabe who was branded an airhead by bullies has had the last laugh – by getting two university degrees.

Charlotte Poole has spent thousands on breast implants, make-up and clothes to look like the iconic children’s doll.

The 22-year-old is as brainy as she is beautiful however, and recently celebrated achieving a first class Masters in Fashion Marketing and a 2:2 law degree from Nottingham University.

Poole, whose refers to herself as Charlotte Elizabeth when she’s “in character” says she enjoys the look on people’s faces when she informs them of her qualifications.

She said: "For me it's fun being Charlotte Elizabeth. If I'm out with a corset on I will get attention from people saying horrible things to me as you would expect, saying I'm stupid or a slag, but because I know I'm not it makes me laugh.

"People are pretty surprised when they find out that I have a first class Masters degree. I don't make a point in telling people but if they find out it's so funny to see their reaction.”

While boyfriend Samuel Pyle prefers her when she’s fresh-faced and dressed down, Pool has vowed to keep up her hobby.

She said: ''I know Samuel prefers me dressed down - but I suppose that's the way he met me.

"We've been together for four years so he saw me 'normally' but within two weeks of being at university I got my boobs done. There are days that I will just have a hoodie and jeans on and no make-up but that's when I'm at home.

"He always says that his favourite 'me' is me without make up on and dressed down. I have had girls say that they hate me because of the way that I look and call me a slag or stupid or easy, but just because I look this way doesn't make me an idiot.

Poole has two university degrees, including a distinction for her Masters

"Although when I see a girl look me up and down and think I must be stupid I quite like it because I know I can prove them wrong.

Poole began dressing up Barbie when she was 15. She said: "I loved Barbie dolls and I loved the Barbie Doll look after watching Melinda Messenger and Pamela Anderson on TV.

''I worried about the way I looked so I started wearing make-up and dressing up. I couldn't even go to the corner shop without wearing full make-up and it just went on from there.

"Now I just want to look good for me and I love nothing more than big smokey make up when I go out as Charlotte Elizabeth.

"I also have bright pink lips for the Barbie look of red for a more rock chick look.

“But I do know for the majority of the time it is totally inappropriate to dress that way so I save it only for certain occasions. I have toned her down a bit since I started dressing with this look."

Poole said: "When I have exams, Charlotte Elizabeth goes away. There is a time and a place to be glamorous. Education always comes first.

"I always make sure I go to job interviews or to work with my hair up with minimal make up and not looking like Pamela Anderson.

"Despite my look I take my work very seriously. I would love to get a nose job, veneers, maybe lip injections - and Botox when I get a few years older.

"But for now I am trying my best to tone down the Barbie within now I have my new job.''

Samuel said: "I've always preferred Charlotte first thing in the morning; fresh faced and with bed hair, probably because that's how she looked when we first met in student digs.

''A long term relationship can't be based on appearances alone, obviously I like the way she looks but we're together because we are best friends and intellectual equals."
