'X Factor' Runner-Up Jahmene Douglas Lands Record Deal With RCA

Now It's Jahmene's Turn..

'X Factor' runner-up Jahmene Douglas has landed his own record deal.

The shy singer, who lost out to James Arthur on the show last year - has signed with Sony Music's RCA Records imprint, Music Week reports.

He said: "I'm so excited about signing to RCA. They have such a rich heritage of amazing artists."

The 21-year-old singer said he can't wait to start recording his album, which is due to be released in May.

"Let the journey begin," he added.

Douglas isn't the first of last year's crop to land a record deal - as well as winner Arthur, who has signed with Simon Cowell's label Syco, 16-year-old Ella Henderson also has a contract. She signed with Sony Music in December.

RCA's current rosta includes Beyonce, Usher, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Pink and Justin Timberlake. Former 'X Factor' contestants Aiden Grimshaw, JLS and Alexandra Burke are also signed to the record label.
