Jim Davidson Arrested Again In Operation Yewtree Investigation

Jim Davidson Arrested On Fresh Allegations Of Sex Offences

Comedian Jim Davidson has been rearrested over fresh allegations of sexual offences, it has emerged.

The 59-year-old answered bail on Wednesday after he was held in January by detectives working on Operation Yewtree, the national investigation prompted by the Jimmy Savile sex abuse scandal.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said a 59-year-old man had been "further arrested on suspicion of sexual offences in connection with further allegations made to Operation Yewtree".

Davidson "vigorously denies" the allegations made against him, his solicitor said.

The former Generation Game and Big Break host was arrested on January 2 in west London, along with a 53-year-old who was held in Hampshire.

They both answered bail today and have again been released on bail until May.

In January, Brandman issued a statement to say: "Two women have made allegations in respect of Jim that date back approximately 25 years.

"The complainants were then in their mid 20s. Jim vigorously denies the allegations.

"He answered police questions as fully as he was able after this passage of time."

Last week DJ Dave Lee Travis was also re-arrested after further allegations were made to Operation Yewtree detectives.

He insisted that his "conscience is clear" and again denied any wrongdoing.

Speaking outside his home in Bedfordshire, the 67-year-old said: "The last four months have been extraordinary. Allegations which I strongly deny have been put to me by the police and to which I have given full and complete answers. I have fully co-operated and my conscience is clear."

So far 11 people have been arrested under Operation Yewtree.
