A grandmother has made a miraculous recovery after her heart stopped beating for 45 minutes.
Carol Brothers collapsed with a heart attack after a shopping trip - and when she was airlifted to hospital, showed no signs of getting better.
According to her local paper, her family made the heartbreaking decision to end her medication, and prepared themselves for bad news.
But the 63-year-old rallied and was eventually discharged from hospital.
Her daughter, Maxine Dickinson, tried to resuscitate her after her collapse.
She told the BBC that as far as she was concerned, "my Mum was dead on the path".
After three days in hospital in Bath, minimal brain activity was detected and medical support was withdrawn, the BBC reported.
But she somehow rallied, and doctors broke the happy news to her family.
‘I just broke down in tears. I couldn't believe it. It was absolutely fantastic news", said her daughter.
