This is the heart-stopping moment a Costa Rican photographer came close to being a crocodile chew.

Antonio Ruiz was on the riverbank of the Rio Tarcoles near the aptly named Crocodile Bridge trying to get the perfect shot of the reptiles.

Despite his friends frantically shouting warnings, Ruiz fails to see one of the crocs getting alarmingly close and preparing to strike.
