Tea Mug With Built-In Spoon Holder Is Genius (PICTURES)

Is This The Greatest Tea Mug In The World?

More than 160 million cups of tea are drunk every day in the UK.

But pyramid teabags and faster kettles aside, in the last 200 years or so there has been remarkably little advancement in the actual receptacle.

We can do better.

Step forward Lee Hae Seung Scott, the designer of the NOTA mug with a built-in spoon holder:

The cup is designed to safely hold a spoon in place after an initial stirring, which is handy as you no longer have to find a clean place to put it, balance it on your nose or otherwise dispose of the spoon before realising you need to stir your tea again.

It's also handy for soup, and for drinks that use condensed milk.

As Gizmodo notes, the design isn't currently for sale. But that surely just gives another inventor somewhere some time to combine the idea with the cookie-holding mug for a truly epoch-defining breakthrough.
