WATCH: Bomb Attack On French Embassy In Libya

The French embassy in Libya has been attacked by a car bomb.

Two French guards were injured and extensive damage was caused by the blast, in the capital Tripoli, security officials said.

The bomb destroyed the reception section of the the embassy, the BBC reported.

French President Francois Hollande said the attack had targeted not only France but "all countries in the international community engaged in the fight against terrorism".

He said: "France expects the Libyan authorities to shed the fullest light on this unacceptable act, so that the perpetrators are identified and brought to justice."

Last year, terrorists attacked the US mission in Benghazi, killing US Ambassador Chris Stephens and three other Americans.
