David Beckham's love affair with the French capital is not proving to be as idyllic as Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris suggested. After he was panned by the press for his conservative display against Barcelona last month, he has now registered his first red card for Paris Saint-Germain.
The former England captain was shown a straight red card in the second minute of stoppage-time following a lunge on the home side’s substitute Youssef Adnane.
Javier Pastore scored the only goal of the game as PSG re-opened their nine-point advantage over Marseille.
On the upside, PSG will be crowned champions next Sunday if they register a better result against Valenciennes than Marseille, who face Bastia.
