Man With Leaking Brain Fluid Thought He Just Had Allergies And A Runny Nose (VIDEO)

A man who simply thought he had a chronic runny nose caused by allergies was shocked to find it was actually his brain fluid leaking out of his skull.

Joe Nagy from Arizona first noticed the problem when he sat up in bed.

He said: "Brooop! This clear liquid dribbled out of my nose like tears out of your eyes. I go 'what is this?'"

The surgeon who treated Nagy said: "You don't really think about it, but our brains are really just above our noses"

Over time the problem got worse. Nagy was picking up blueprints for model airplanes when a lump just dribbled out all over them.

That was the final straw and he went to see a specialist who revealed the stomach-churning truth.

Fluid was leaking out of a small gash in the membrane surrounding his brain.

Luckily for Nagy the problem was fixed with surgery - during which he contracted meningitis.

He managed to recover from the double whammy and the surgery was a success.

He said: "I was waiting for the dribble. This leaking, because I was so used to it every day. I got my hankie. Nothing. It's never come back."
