Bill Gates Gives Emotional Interview On Apple's Late Steve Jobs

WATCH: 'We Always Retained A Certain Respect'

They may have been bitter business rivals but Microsoft's Bill Gates clearly has fond personal memories of Apple's late Steve Jobs.

In an emotional interview with Charlie Rose on US TV show '60 Minutes', Gates spoke of his last conversation he had with Jobs before he died of complications from pancreatic cancer.

Gates mulls over the similarities between the two of them saying: "We were within a year of the same age, and we were kind of naively optimistic and built big companies.

"And every fantasy we had about creating products and learning new things — we achieved all of it. And most of it as rivals.

"But we always retained a certain respect and communication, including even when he was sick."
