Missing Man Turns Up During News Report About Him

Here at HuffPost UK Comedy, we like to bring you unusual stories, and heartwarming stories, as well as laugh-out-loud ones. And we think this strange-but-true tale - which has a happy ending - falls into those former categories.

WMTW TV in Maine were about to record a news report about 73-year-old Bob McDonough, who suffers from dementia and who had been missing from his home town of Limington for more than 14 hours.

"We were doing our last live shot at the bottom of the hour," explained reporter Norm Karkos, "and we saw a man who just kind of walks up behind us".

At first, they thought nothing of it - but then the news crew realised that the elderly man who just happened to have walked into shot was McDonough himself.

Watch the amazing moment caught on camera, above. McDonagh was thankfully fine following his ordeal. "He is safe. He is alert," said Karkos. "This is a great ending to this story."
