A giant panda has given birth in Taipei Zoo.
The remarkable moment was captured on camera as Yuan Yuan and partner Tuan Tuan finally had a baby after three attempts at artificial insemination.
An official statement from the city's mayor said: "Taipei mayor Hao Lung-bin is very pleased to learn that Yuan Yuan successfully gave birth to a cub at 8.05 pm (10.05PM AEST)...

"The Taipei city will take good care of Yuan Yuan, Tuan Tuan and the newborn."
Pandas are notoriously reluctant to breed. The annual breeding season can be as little as 24 hours.
Yuan Yuan was a gift from China.
