Updos were knotted and twisted on the Spring/Summer 2013 catwalks and guess what? The trend was a big deal on the red carpet during awards season too.
At Gucci (left), low-slung buns were graphic with a sharp flick, while at Givenchy (centre) and Ralph Lauren (right), the hair was twisted into slick, neat knots.

As for the A-listers, Rachel Weisz and Lily Collins have been the biggest supporters of the style but if you don't want to do the sleek thing? Look to Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek for a messy but equally chic take on the twisted bun.
