After their engagement in January 2011, Louise & Leon tied the knot in December of the same year at Islington Town Hall. Their winter wedding was followed by a reception in a beautiful Georgian town house, 6 Fitzroy Square.
While some say dating work colleagues is a recipe for disaster, Louise and Leon have proved critics wrong. "On Leon's first day, my friend Sara who I lived and worked with at the time, called me up to say 'there's a new guy started and I think you're really going to like him.' She was right! Our first kiss was on a night out in Camden and then we properly got together on a company weekend away in Krakow and dated after that", Louise told us. The rest is history.
As for the wedding day, the couple planned everything themselves, from the Montezuma chocolate wedding favours to the mint green colour theme. The Clerkenwell Kitchen served up dinner while cupcakes from Primose Hill Bakery were a popular alternative to a traditional wedding cake.
And the dress? Louise went vintage. "I found it second hand in a bigger size and had it altered", she explained. It was white crepe with a boat neckline and no structure or boning. I liked it because of how simple it was. I had it altered by a dressmaker one of my friends suggested, Nicola Denati. She added a cream vintage lace collar that was my Great Great Grandma's and made into sleeves". The result? A beautiful bride and one very happy couple.
