When it comes to head-turning ensembles, Nancy Dell'Olio's usual technique is to wrestle herself into something ultra-tight, super-short and almost definitely age-inappropriate. Well, at last night's Serpentine Gallery bash, she embraced her usual approach by donning a tiny white halter dress - and then some.
Dell'Olio turned heads (but presumably, had difficulty moving her own - that headgear looks heavy!) in a silver chain link Cleopatra-style headdress - which has us humming the tune to "Walk Like An Egyptian" from The Bangles - which she teamed with a silver envelope clutch, sparkly silver peep-toes and a dramatic silver smoky eye (we also spotted some all-over body glitter on Dell'Olio's shoulders).
Now, is an elegant summer gallery party really the moment to try on fancy dress for size? (Even Mischa Barton pulled it together for this event and looked lovely in a yellow maxi-dress). Is this just a desperate act of misguided attention-seeking in the wrong place and at the wrong time?
If someone can explain this monstrosity to us, we'd be grateful.
