Tom Hanks admits the subjects covered in his film 'Captain Phillips' were "an education of things he hadn't pondered".

The double Oscar winner plays the captain of a hijacked merchant ship in the film released today, and admits to HuffPostUK that it was director Paul Greengrass ('The Bourne Identity') who explained to him the significance of the role.
