Steve Carell plays beautifully against type in 'The Way, Way Back' - a gentle coming-of-age tale, familiar to anyone who's been on an extended-family holiday.
After being dragged on the trip with his mum Pam (Toni Collette) and her overbearing boyfriend Trent (Carell), 14- year-old Duncan finds a gregarious friend called Owen (Sam Rockwell) at a local water park. The two form a powerful bond as Duncan learns to swim through the challenges of life, love, family and friendship, resulting in a vacation he’ll never forget.
Even with Carell and Collette in starring roles, it's Sam Rockwell and 'West Wing' star Allison Janney who steal the show.
