We've already made our 2014 tech predictions quite clear (they involve watches, and rabbits), but we were by no means the first to speculate on what tech would appear in the 12 months to come.

In fact, no less than robotics visionary Isaac Asimov made his own set of guesses almost 50 years ago to the day. His story in the New York Times ("Visit to the World's Fair of 2014") imagined everything from labour saving robots (true) to widespread and ubiquitous teaching of computer code (alas, not true).

Here's what he thought would 2014 would be like:
