The storms lashing Britain's coast have proved to be dangerous in a most unexpected way.

Around nine unexploded World War II bombs have been washed up on a Westcliff-on-Sea beach in Essex, reports the BBC.

Bomb disposal experts from the Royal Navy carried out controlled explosions around 09:45 Tuesday morning.

They were spotted on Sunday morning by a man walking on the beach.
