Paulinho scored in the 3-0 win at Upton Park, with striker Harry Kane striking twice.
Lewis Holtby and Gylfi Sigurdsson also started in a strong Spurs XI.

Vertonghen, who has not played since 4 December, said he is now available for next Wednesday's Premier League visit of Manchester City.

Sandro has been sidelined the six weeks with a calf problem while his compatriot, Paulinho, has not featured since Stoke's Charlie Adam injured him with a crude tackle on 29 December.
