Sally Bercow has denied her marriage is in trouble after the Sun published a photograph which appears to show her kissing another man, while wearing a wig.

The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant, who is the wife of Commons Speaker John Bercow, is pictured with her arms wrapped around the man.

The Sun reported the photographs were taken outside central London nightclub Number Five Cavendish Square on Saturday night but added that there is no suggestion the pair left together.

Taking to Twitter after the story emerged, Mrs Bercow attempted to downplay the photographs claiming they are "totally misleading".

"It looks bad but so isn't! Hey ho. Gotta love meeja :-)" she said, referring to the media.

When a follower tweeted her to say "Who cares?" she replied: "Precisely. Our marriage suits us perfectly well thank you, whatever others may think".

After first sarcastically thanking the Sun, she then tweeted them to say the photos were "totally misleading."

Mrs Bercow, who was the first to be voted off Celebrity Big Brother in 2011, was made to pay £15,000 to Lord McAlpine last year over her infamous "innocent face" tweet.

She posted the defamatory tweet two days after a Newsnight report last November wrongly implicated the Tory peer in allegations of sex abuse.
