A driver who crashed into a bus after being stabbed during rush hour has died in hospital, Scotland Yard has said.
Police were called to Stockwell underground station in south London, shortly before 5.45pm last night following a series of calls about a fight and a bus crash.
Officers found the 22-year-old inside his car suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to hospital by ambulance in a critical condition but later died.
A Metropolitan Police statement said a murder investigation is now under way.
"At this early stage, officers believe the man was stabbed nearby, prior to getting into his car and colliding with the bus," it added.
"We are not aware of any other injuries.
"This incident may be linked to earlier report of disorder on a bus nearby."
Officers believe they know the identity of the man but he has not yet been formally identified. A post-mortem examination will be arranged "in due course".
Rush hour commuters faced delays of around an hour near Clapham Road, where the incident happened.
