Everton Fan Ric Wee Enjoys Club Hospitality After Match Postponed

What an incredible day for Ric Wee. The Malaysian football fan travelled to the UK this week to watch his beloved Everton FC play live for the first time ever.

So excited was Mr Wee that he arrived at Goodison Park early, sending this tweet from the ground where the team where scheduled to take on Crystal Palace.

Unfortunately, the game was postponed 35 minutes before kick off due to storm damage affecting nearby buildings. As news of the rescheduling spread, Mr Wee’s post went viral with more than 7,000 retweets.

Distraught and dejected, the EFC fanatic summoned the will to send one more post:

However, that was not the end of Mr Wee's evening. Everton officials who had spotted the tweet managed to find the downhearted fan and invited him into the dressing room to meet manager Roberto Martinez and all the players he had so avidly been watching from half-way around the world.

As the fan succinctly put it having enjoyed the incredibly warm-hearted gesture by the Toffees: "Today Everton just proved again that it’s the People's Club".
