Pussy Riot Whipped And Pepper Sprayed By Cossack Militia

The punk political protest group left a restaurant and donned their trademark balaclavas before attempting to perform a song beneath a sign advertising the Winter Olympics being held in the city.

The five women and their male guitarist were immediately set upon by around a dozen Cossacks, a group used by Russian authorities to patrol the streets.

Members of the militia quickly dispersed the musical protest, pushing, whipping and dragging them away.

Photographers were also attacked and one man was left with a bloodied face. The group's guitar was smashed and place in a bin.

Pussy Riot have already been arrested and released once this week as their protests against President Vladimir Putin continue to annoy the authorities.
