'Flappy Bird' Could Return Says Creator: 'I'm Considering It'

Flappy Bird Could Flap Once More

Flappy Bird could return, says its creator Nguyen Dong.

The simple one-button mobile game was dramatically pulled from the web last month, weeks after rising to the top of virtually every app store in the world.

The Vietnamese coder who made it had said the game ruined his "simple life", after he was swamped with press requests and harassment. He also received death threats, both from players angry at the game's addictive qualities and those who hated its apparently too-good-to-be-true instant success.

It appeared the game was dead forever - despite the massive array of clones even now clogging the app stores of the world.

But now it could be set for a dramatic comeback.

The game, which earned Dong more than $50,000 per day at its height thanks to in-game advertising, could be back on the Apple and Google Play app stores any day now.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Dong said he was "considering" bringing the game back.

"I can't go back to my life before, but I'm good now."

But if the game does come back, it will have a warning: "take a break". Dong appears to be genuinely concerned that the game is too addictive.

"At first I thought they were just joking," he says, "but I realize they really hurt themselves."
