St Patrick's Day Emerald Makeover For The Niagara Falls (PICTURE)

Even The Niagara Falls Had A St Patrick's Day Makeover (PICTURE)

St Patrick’s Day is a time for leprechauns, Guinness, shamrocks and horseshoes.

And green waterfalls – don’t forget those.

This image shows the iconic Niagara Falls lit specially in an emerald hue for the occasion on Saturday.

Green team: The Horseshoe Falls were illuminated in an emerald hue on Saturday

Specifically it was the Horseshoe Falls section which was bathed in green (do you see what they did there?!)

The Horseshoe Falls are one of the three waterfalls which collectively make up Niagara Falls and straddle the international border between Canada and the United States.

In recent months, sub zero temperatures have seen the world famous site partially frozen a number of times.

The freezing falls have also been illuminated with a variety of colours, making the scene look not unlike the world’s fanciest ice cream chiller cabinet.

Yum.
