Politicians and public figures have blasted Metro newspaper for its front page headline saying Peaches Geldof, who died suddenly on Monday, and her mother Paula Yates were "together again".
Former Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott was among those who took to Twitter to deride the daily paper's headline as bad taste.
Geldof died aged 25, leaving behind a husband and two sons aged 23 months and 11 months. Metro ran the headline beneath a photo Geldof had tweeted the day before her death of herself as a baby with Yates, her TV presenter mother who died in 2000 aged 41 of a drugs overdose.
Her accompanying message simply said: "Me and my mum."

Lord Prescott said on Twitter: "Is it just me who thinks this is on poor taste?"
TV presenter Jeremy Vine said: "Don't like this headline, don't know why."
Kent Police said her death was still being treated as "sudden and unexplained" but not suspicious. A force spokesman told HuffPostUK that a post-mortem was expected in the next couple of days.
The socialite's death was on the front page of many daily national newspapers in Britain on Tuesday, with many of them focusing the tragic image of her and Yates and comments by her father, musician and activist Sir Bob Geldof, that the family was "beyond pain" at the news.
