Angelina Jolie: 'The Film World Is Not The Centre Of Our Household, We Want Our Kids To Focus On Other Things'

'We Want Our Kids To Focus On Other Things'

Angelina Jolie might have spent all her life around films and Hollywood but the actress has revealed that's the last thing she wants for her own children.

The Oscar-winning star says she and her partner, Brad Pitt, are keen for their six kids to lead normal lives as much as possible and don't want the movie business to be the centre of their world.

She told 5 News: "I grew up around Hollywood and in a way it was good because I was not that excited by it - it did not seem like a magic distant thing.

"I grew up less in awe of it all so I think it's good for our kids that they enjoy movies but that they can also see it's work and there's something very regular about it. And enjoy the fun of it.

"We don't keep them from it but we also don't make it a big deal, it's not the centre of our house. We do other things with our kids, we want them to focus on other things."

But despite this, the star has defended her decision to star alongside her five-year-old daughter Vivienne in the new Disney film 'Maleficent'.

She said: "It was out of necessity because the other little kids were scared of me."

Last week Angelina raised eyebrows at a film premiere in New York after suffering a serious make-up mishap.
