Courtney Love has revealed she was aware of Peaches Geldof’s drug addiction and tried to help her, though it "proved to be impossible".
Love, a former heroin addict herself, says she was visited by Geldof in 2010 while she was staying at the Chateau Marmont Hotel.
Geldof turned up with a friend and a bag full of prescription drugs – including opiate-based Oxycontin, also known as “hillbilly heroin.”

The 25-year-old was found dead at her home in Kent last month, with an inquest later finding she had the class-A drug heroin in her system when she passed away.
Love exclusively told Grazia magazine: “…When I read heroin was involved I was not shocked. I know how Peaches liked opiates.
“My drug was heroin, I stopped taking it in the Nineties, but I have taken the pills, the Roxycontin, Oxycontin.

“Peaches was unfortunately in my room with a friend who had a bag full of these drugs… like 500 pills and I wanted it so badly, never have I wanted anything more, no man, no money, and I had to physically push Peaches and her friend out the door.
“I was shaking and kept thinking of the way her mother died and I thought I owe it to this girl to be an example. I was trying to help her, I was trying to mentor her, but that point in her life, it proved to be impossible.
“Now the parallels to her Mommy are horrific.”
Geldof’s mother Paula Yates died of a heroin overdose in 2000 when she was just 11-years-old.
It has been confirmed police have launched an investigation to find out who supplied the mother-of-two with the class A drugs.
