Family Sorrow After 'Beautiful' Nicole Hartup's Death At Youth Club

Tributes have been paid to a 12-year-old girl who died after falling from a wall at a youth centre.

Nicole Hartup died in hospital following the accident at the Phoenix Club in Burnthouse Lane, Exeter, at around 8.45pm last night.

A memorial event has been planned for the schoolgirl, who was a student at Isca College of Media Arts in Exeter, as family and friends took to social media to pay tribute to a "gorgeous young lady".

Sabina Denham, the girl's aunt, wrote on Facebook: "My gorgeous, beautiful niece Nicole Hartup has gone to live with the angels.

"As everyone can imagine the family are absolutely devastated beyond words. Please respect our family's wishes while we are going through this awful grieving stage.

"Nicole Hartup you are now your mum and dad's shining star xx xx R.I.P darling lots of love all of your family....We love you xxxxxxxxxx"

Also paying tribute, William Lambshead wrote: "My very very pretty niece is now playing with the angels and her new friends. Rest peacefully babe."

Morgan Cameron Parsons wrote: "Rip to my beautiful best friend watching u go was the worst but I know ur with ur cousin now and I'm sure my nan will look after u save me a space xxx."

Caroline Jackson said: "R.I.P Nicole such a gorgeous young lady, u will never be forgotten always in our hearts forever. Thoughts are with her family at this sad time. Fly with the angels baby girl... XXXXXXXXXX."

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The exact circumstances of this incident are still being investigated. At this time no other persons are being sought in connection with this."
