A bulldog has been hailed a hero after saving the life of a three-year-old boy.
Toddler Charlie Blake had become entangled in the cord of a window blind after waking in the night and wandering downstairs at his Telford home.
American Bulldog Buster sensed the boy was in danger and barked to wake up Charlie's mum, Natalie.
Natalie, 27, was roused from her slumber by Buster's yaps at 3am.
"I was asleep when I heard Buster barking," she told the Mirror. "My bedroom door was shut and he was outside. My first reaction was there was someone inside the house because he never barks at night.
"But I followed him downstairs and I could see the cord from a window blind was wrapped around his neck."
Luckily, Charlie escaped unharmed and was left with just a few red marks.
His relieved mum said Buster is his 'guardian angel' - even though she had initially been worried about taking the dog on when he needed re-homing three months ago.
"I had a few comments like, 'why have you got him?' But if I didn't, who knows what would have happened. He's as gentle as a lamb," she said.
