Whether her outfit is from the high street or a designer, whatever the Duchess of Cambridge wears is an instant sell-out.
It's the Kate effect, and it never fails to send women into a fashion frenzy. From a Roksanda Ilincic shift dress, to an Orla Kiely dress-coat or a pair of her favourite L.K.Bennett heels - the sales soar.
But how does it feel for the brand when the royal chooses to wear a piece made by them? In an interview with Racked, New Zealand-born, now New York-based Rebecca Taylor reveals the truth behind the honour. Here's what Taylor had to say:
"Are you kidding me? My life! Died and gone to heaven. I can't tell you, I'm such a royalist, it's so corny. I love Kate, and I love William, and I'm obsessed with George. And I love Diana. When I grew up, it was Princess Diana and Lady Diana, and I had the scrapbook and everything.
"When William was baby George's age, he came to New Zealand with Diana. My school went and saw her car come in by the airport, because our school's right by the airport. We all stood there waving, and then there's baby William. And now he's back in New Zealand with his baby and his wife is wearing Rebecca Taylor.
"It gives you goosebumps. Never would've imagined in a million years. My dad is signing autographs, would you believe. We love them out there."
Taylor's love of the family started way back when but she caught Kate's eye for good reason - the designer knows how to do feminine, modern, refined wares.
