Homeland star and new mum Claire Danes says her life has become totally 'baby-centric' since the birth of her eight-month-old son Cyrus
Claire – who is married to Stoke-on-Trent-born actor Hugh Dancy - said she is 'having a big old romance' with her newborn, and that his arrival has totally changed her and Hugh's lives.
"To have a child is deeply grounding and I think it has tethered Hugh and I. It's all about Cyrus and creating a family together," she said.
American-born Claire also said that the cultural differences between her and Hugh, 38, lead to some surprising competitiveness – they are both battling to get Cyrus to learn nursery rhymes from their country first!
Claire also revealed a keeness for little Cyrus to have an arty upbringing.
"I grew up in a very creative environment and there were lots of art materials literally on every surface of the house and easily accessible," she said. "It really helped me to discover myself as a creative person so I want to create that for Cyrus, too."
"We're not even finger-painting yet, but I'm really look forward to seeing him make a mark with a crayon on a piece of paper and seeing what comes out of him."
