A male model who claims he is the father of Kourtney Kardashian's young son Mason wrote to the reality star begging for a DNA test ahead of launching a custody lawsuit.
Michael Girgenti has now begun action against Kourtney in a bid to get joint custody of three-year-old Mason, but a letter he wrote to her back in April has just become public.
Dated April 23, the letter lays out Girgenti's desire for Kourtney to 'submit to DNA test'. RadarOnline says the 26-year-old model wanted to avoid dragging Kourtney and her current partner Scott Disick to court.
'My attentions [sic] are not to hurt the family you've created with Scott. Please take this final request for a DNA test seriously because if you don't, I will be forced to take legal action and sue.
'I assure you I don't take being a father lightly. I will be a great father to Mason.'
Kourtney's lawyer Todd Wilson has branded Girgenti's claims 'absurd' and says he is making them in a shameful attempt to 'gain publicity and profit from fictional stories'.
The model claims he fathered Mason when he had unprotected sex with Kourtney nine months before the baby's birth.
Girgenti filed paperwork at a Los Angeles County Superior Court last week and a hearing has been set for next month. His lawsuit claims that his relationship with the star escalated in August 2008, and that they had months of texting where she told him her relationship with Scott was 'on the outs' and 'she wanted to hang'.
Kourtney is said to be 'furious' about the allegations. She now also has a 13-month-old daughter, Penelope with Scott Disick. Rumours began to circulate last week that she could be expecting again, but she has declined to comment on them.
