Michael Van Der Ham's fresh, popping like it's hot Autumn/Winter 2014 catwalk show made us want to totter into next season, Sixties style.
The palette was bursting with zesty oranges, fuchsias and yellows that, along with the Swarovski crystal embellishment, were just dazzling. The fluoro suede Christian Louboutins too.
Van Der Ham's fleet of models were inspired by Parker Posey in the 1995 movie Party Girl. They're all about working the sartorial magic, they dabble in every texture (organza, sequin, cashmere, embossed lace) and they know exactly what works with what. Yes, that would be tights with everything.
There's a few easy wins to getting Michael Van Der Ham's look down to a tee, check these style notes from Monday's show at the Tate Modern...
1. Shirt and pencil skirt combos. There is NOTHING more sleek or sexy making than a prominent collar or a silk jacquard shirt tucked into a lacy skirt. The ultimate silhouette.
2. Think brights and tights. Bare legs are not for this clique, they do every shade of lycra teamed with a bespoke loafer heel Louboutin.
3. Invest in/update your cocktail dress. Go for something with organza florals, applique chiffon detailing and a whole lot of bling. Swarovski crystals are a Van Der Ham girl's best friend.
