Co-founder of Tinned Bananas (and before you ask, no she doesn't also sell fruit in sealed aluminium cans!) Rosie Spencer set up her ridiculously funky fashion label with her brother James in 2013. As their Shoreditch store opens its doors, we got chatting Sandra Bullock, farmers and bananas, of course!
Why I look in the mirror I see... someone who needs to go back to bed! No, normally I see a rainbow of fruity colours and someone who is dressed head to toe in Tinned Bananas. I'm the type of girl who doesn't mind going without makeup. I'll dress up and do it all for a night out but during the day I'm pretty casual.
If I were stranded on a desert island with just one item of clothing it would be... our Tinned Bananas Caribbean Queen high-waisted bikini! What else would you wear on a desert island? Plus it comes in our trademark banana print and I love it.
When I was at school I wanted to be... well, my mum goes mad at me about this because my memory is absolutely terrible, but apparently when I was little I used to like digging around in the garden - but I don't think I wanted to be a farmer or anything like that. I've always been creative. I loved drawing the Rugrat characters when I was little.
My biggest style triumph was... when I wore a black snakeskin off the shoulder dress to a friend's wedding earlier this year. It's one of Tinned Bananas' more tame prints and I felt amazing in it. It's always great when I get to wear my own designs. I teamed it with a tribal-style necklace from Zara and a bright pink pony skin clutch!
If I could be any character from film or literature I'd be... when I was younger and I had dark hair I used to get told I looked like Sandra Bullock. I'm also a little bit awkward and scatty, so I'd probably be Sandra Bullock in Miss Congeniality. I'm a bit of a scruff bag but I scrub up alright in the end!
