Zac Posen's Autumn/Winter 2014 catwalk show during New York Fashion Week, inspired by America's first couturier Charles James, took full-skirted fabulousness to all new levels.
The look was all performance, all drama. Posen's leading ladies worked the runway in breathtaking strapless and off-the shoulder ballgowns complete with structured, sculpted bodices.
When it wasn't floor-length, over-the-top skirts, it was slinky satin styles with capes and matchy tweed suits that turned heads.
The colourways were pure Autumnal decadence and Posen proved that sequin and sparkle do not define dresses fit for princesses.
Makeup was all about the flicked cat-eyes and scarlet lipstick, whereas hair was pinned into gentle retro updos. Coco Rocha was one of the flawless models who floated down the runway, and this could-be-couture collection was just dreamy.
