Valentino's Autumn/Winter 2014 show at Paris Fashion Week took us to earthy, romantic realms with whimsical beauty, butterflies, florals and metallics.
Collared dresses in striking camouflage-like floral patterns were ultra-feminine and utterly opulent. Tailored trench coats and capes too.
Then there was a gentle nod to the Sixties with red, pink and white spots across dresses and knitwear worn with red leather knee-high boots and matching bucket bags.
Leather coats and skirts had luxe leather tassel detailing and then came a wave of micro mini dresses. Still collared and worn with micro cross-body handbags.
Then there were the beautiful, billowy dresses in dusty pink, khaki green and charcoal grey followed by lacy, sheer panelled styles. Think block colours and chevron print.
This line up is exactly what the Autumn/Winter season needs - fresh, feminine, fabulous pieces. Bravo, creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli. Bravo.
