Arturo Vidal, Manchester United Target, To 'Stay At Juventus'

What's The Latest On United Target Vidal?

Manchester United's hopes of signing Arturo Vidal are fading quickly after Juventus trumpeted the "solid marriage" between the club and the midfielder.

United's interest in Vidal cooled once Louis van Gaal took official charge last month, amid suggestions the Dutchman was concerned about Vidal's knee injury, however he has dominated the summer speculation at Old Trafford.

With just 11 days of the transfer window remaining, United are under immense pressure to strengthen a depleted squad that lost 2-1 at home to Swansea on Saturday, however it looks increasingly unlikely Vidal will follow Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo to M16.

United fans are desperate for the club to sign Vidal

"All the requirements are there for Vidal not to leave before the end of the transfer market," Juve general director Giuseppe Marotta told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

"The contract extension he signed has made more solid the marriage between Juve and Vidal.

"Vidal has always said he wanted to stay here and we are more than happy to keep him."

Juventus signed Vidal in 2011 and they have won the Scudetto in the last three seasons since his arrival in Turin.
