Manchester United will take their summer spending up to £144.7 million after confirming the transfer of Daley Blind from Ajax.
The move is subject to Blind, 24, passing a medical and agreeing personal terms however the Holland defender could make his United debut after the international break against Queens Park Rangers.
Blind, son of former Ajax defender Danny, was an ever-present in Louis van Gaal's Holland side at the World Cup and his versatility is highly valued by his compatriot. Blind can play at centre-back, left-back or in central midfield, which is perhaps the likeliest position he will start for United following Marcos Rojo's arrival earlier this month.

United have already signed Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw, Rojo and Angel di María in this transfer window, taking their spending in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era past the £200m mark.
The Reds are not expected to make late moves for Juventus's Arturo Vidal or Sporting Lisbon's defensive midfielder William Carvalho.
