It's Back to School time, and for a new generation of children it's their first taste of 'big' school.
This devastatingly funny photo entitled 'first day of school vs. second day of school' shows that even at a young age, it doesn't take long for shiny shoes and bright-eyed enthusiasm to dissolve into grumpy frowns and backpacks dragged across the playground.
This picture really is worth a thousand words. In the 'first day of school' snap on the left-hand side, the little boy stands, grinning, with his chest puffed out, all set to make his big debut.
In one hand, he proudly clutches a brand-new Transformers lunchbox, while his rucksack sits squarely on his shoulders.
We don't know exactly what went on inside the classroom over the next few hours, but it's clear from the right-hand picture that the school experience clearly failed to live up to this young man's expectations.
Titled 'second day of school', it shows the same kid, but now with his shoulders slouched and his face set in a sulky pout, with the backpacknow trailing carelessly against the ground.
And he still has to go back tomorrow!
The photo was shared on Reddit's /r/pics message board, where it clearly struck a chord with the board's six million subscribers. Since it was posted four days ago, the image has already been viewed over 2 million times, and has been shared all around the web.
